What you can reliably get at this price is a scope that holds zero on a .22 LR, offers usable clarity in good light, and lets you hit small targets inside 75 yards. What you cannot get is genuine low-light performance, repeatable turret tracking you would trust for dialling, or the recoil resilience a hard-kicking centerfire demands.

The single most consequential specification in this tier is parallax. Most scopes ship with parallax fixed at 100 yards because that is where centerfire rifles are zeroed, but a rimfire is usually shot at 25 to 50. At those distances a 100-yard-parallax scope shows visible reticle wander as your head moves behind the eyepiece — enough to miss a squirrel's head with an otherwise perfect hold. Look for a scope specified with parallax fixed nearer 50 yards, or an adjustable objective that focuses that close. It is worth more than an extra 3x of magnification.

Buy on optical honesty rather than feature count at this level. A plain 3-9x32 with decent coatings and a 50-yard fixed parallax will outshoot a 6-24x50 with an illuminated reticle and a tactical-looking turret stack, because the cheap high-magnification scope spends its budget on things that do not work.
