Most whitetail hunting happens inside 200 yards, where a 3-9x or 4-12x scope with a 40–44 mm objective covers everything from thick timber to a bean field edge. Use the low end for close, fast shots and the high end for confirming a target at distance.
Either works — what matters is that the reticle and turrets use the same unit. One MOA is 1.047 inches at 100 yards and one mil is 3.6 inches at 100 yards. MOA is the traditional choice for US hunters; MRAD dominates PRS and long-range competition.
