MOA remains the most intuitive angular unit for American shooters because it maps so cleanly onto inches and yards. One minute of angle subtends 1.047 inches at 100 yards — near enough an inch that the mental arithmetic is trivial — so a scope with quarter-MOA clicks moves point of impact roughly a quarter inch per click at that distance, about 0.26 inches to be exact.
